Shattered

They clung onto her body and wouldn’t let go. They tore her down except she had already given up struggling.

Farrah was utterly in pieces. Not knowing what to do with her wretched life, she gazed out the closest thing to a balcony. The weather was freezing, cold, icy wind blowing straight onto her skin, but her heart was too numb to feel it.

The Snow Queen was plagued by many burdens, the loss of her humanity. They clung onto her body and wouldn’t let go. They tore her down except she had already given up struggling. All those she wronged haunted her day and night.

She had a power she never asked for, never wanted to sacrifice for. It weighed down with such unbearable pain. But with her last hope gone, the Snow Queen knew that all had been in vain. She could almost laugh at the irony. Staring out soullessly, her expression almost appeared sad. Her pupils were dulled, without life.

From a distance, it almost looked as if she was alright, a rich, powerful queen with sumptuous jewelry and lustrous hair. But the red colored gemstones reflected the pain every moment while blood still stained her hands.

She was completely alone in the darkness with so, so many regrets.

Why I write: I write so that I can pour out all my emotions, so that I can express myself to others, similar to dancing or illustrating. Writing has a freeing way of letting yourself be whoever you want to without the limits of reality. Imagination is the only power we have against this cruel and unfair world, against real life. I can create entire worlds and all sorts of different people. I get to make the incredibly risky and bad idea work and feel a sense of satisfaction and happiness for these characters knowing that they would never experience the utter despair and heartbreak.
